Augusta is a small village about seven miles west of Battle Creek, over the line into Kalamazoo County. Most of it lies in Ross Township, with the southern portion in Charleston Township, so the answer to a local rules question depends on which end of the village you are in. The Kalamazoo River runs along the east and south sides and Augusta Creek runs north to south straight through the middle of town. Fort Custer Recreation Area sits immediately south. It is a straight run west on M-96 for us, which makes Augusta one of the easier out-of-county areas we cover.

I have a lot of storm-downed timber. What size do I need?
Brush, limbs and cut timber take up volume without much weight, so a 20 yard box is usually the sensible choice rather than a small one you fill in an hour. Cut the material to manageable lengths and stack rather than throw it in, because loose branches waste a huge amount of space. Keep soil and root balls out, they are heavy and handled separately.
