Albion is the furthest east we regularly run, sitting where the north and south branches of the Kalamazoo River meet, which is why it was originally called The Forks. It is a college town with an industrial past, and both show in the housing. Albion College anchors one side of town, Superior Street runs through the commercial core, and around them are blocks of large older homes plus streets of smaller worker housing from the foundry years. Because it is a longer haul from Battle Creek, we plan Albion deliveries a bit further ahead and try to line up swaps rather than making short-notice extra trips.

The big Victorian and early twentieth-century homes near the college have deep lots and long driveways, which suits us, though many have mature trees close to the drive that limit hoist clearance. The smaller two-storey and bungalow housing on the north and east sides sits on tight lots with short drives, and some blocks have alley access. A steady share of Albion work is rehab and clean-out on long-vacant property, which means heavy loads of plaster, lath, old flooring and water-damaged contents. Student rental turnover around the college brings a burst of furniture and general junk each spring. We also see roof tear-offs and porch rebuilds constantly, since the housing stock is old. On the low-lying blocks near the river branches, spring ground conditions are worth checking before we bring a loaded truck onto grass.
Superior Street storefront work comes up regularly, with upper floors being emptied or converted and ground floor units refitted between tenants. Those buildings are deep and narrow with shared rear service access, so placement gets agreed before the truck leaves our yard. Institutional and church properties in town also generate periodic clearances of stored furniture, files and equipment. Beyond that there is a long tail of vacant and part-restored housing, which means board-up debris, collapsed porches and cleared contents. Tree and brush work matters here too, given the mature street canopy and the river corridor running through town. Brush is bulky and light, so we generally recommend the larger box rather than the smaller one.

About twenty-four miles east on I-94 to exit 124, then a short run south on M-99 into town, roughly twenty-five to thirty minutes. Main routes in: I-94 exit 124, M-99 (Superior Street), Michigan Avenue.

Yes. It is about half an hour each way from Battle Creek, so we schedule it rather than treat it as a drop-in, but we run Albion regularly. If you can give us a day or two of notice and a flexible delivery window, it is straightforward. For bigger jobs we prefer to plan swaps in advance so the box is never sitting full while you wait.
Expect more weight than volume. Old plaster, lath, saturated carpet and packed basements are dense, and a 20 yard box filled with that material will exceed the weight limit long before it is full. We usually recommend a 15 yard box for the demolition phase and a larger one later for bulky but light material like cabinets, framing and trim.
On your own driveway, generally no. If the container has to sit on a city street or in the right-of-way, that is a City of Albion matter and you should confirm with them before delivery. Requirements are not the same from town to town in Calhoun County, so it is worth a phone call rather than assuming the Battle Creek approach applies.
Yes, and it is worth booking early because everyone wants the same week. Furniture, mattresses and general junk go in fine. What cannot go in are tyres, paint, batteries, electronics with screens and appliances containing refrigerant. If you tell us roughly how many units you are clearing we will size the box and set up a swap schedule that fits the move-out dates.
